Heavy Metal (1981)
SKU: dvdheavymetalbr
It may have had one of the most hit or miss, middle of the road rock ‘n roll soundtracks ever considering the title song sucked sweaty balls, but I’ll be damned if they didn’t capture the spirit of the original magazine with this animated cult classic. The anthology sci-fi film centered around a strange glowing orb from outer space is bound to bring back memories… or fuzzy memories for those of us who enjoyed a few “mood enhancers” during the films original run. This blu-ray edition includes the original feature length rough cut with commentary, deleted scenes, and a documentary.

Close to 20 victims later (not all on camera, mind you) we find the clueless cops still clueless, a freezer full of eyeballs, and the eye art collection of his little shop growing. The deranged artist eventually freezes to death in a giant meat freezer while chasing down that one last female victim. DVD

Hatchet (2007)
SKU: dvdhatchetbr
Blu-Ray DVD - Not quite the “old school American horror” the hype promised, but this tale of a bayou tour that promises to reveal the legend of deformed swamp psycho, Victor Crowley, did contain plenty of dim-wit throwaway characters like most 80's slasher films did, and some decent enough gore and death to keep us jaded old horror hippies from dozing off. Kane Hodder plays the killer, Robert England shows up for a paycheck, and Tony Todd. Includes a couple commentary tracks, making of featurette, trailer, and more. This is the Blu-Ray DVD and will not play in regular DVD players.
