Fortunately, this is the real deal - uncut and ready to gut punch the viewer with the story of a small group of documentary filmmakers who head into the jungle in search of cannibals - and find them! Another group sets out to find the filmmakers and discovers their lost film footage and discovers the horrors they both created and the horrible way they met their demise. Commentary, behind-the-scenes, interviews, trailers, script, music video, and more! We haven’t seen this DVD available for some time, so I have no idea if it’s now out of print or what? All I know is that we found a few in a warehouse and when they are gone, they may be gone for good.

Roy Frumkes amazing documentary on horror director George Romero was filmed as he was working on his zombie classic, Dawn of the Dead. An intimate look at Romero’s creative process, this film contains a wealth of behind-the-scenes footage from the shooting of Dawn, as well as makeup effects footage, scenes from other Romero films, interviews with cast and crew members and more. This is the uncut version of Document of the Dead. It contains almost 6 minutes worth of footage that was deleted from the original release of the film, as well as a new segment Frumkes shot ten years later on the set of Romero’s “Two Evil Eyes” segment.
