One of director Al Adamson’s first feature films, PSYCHO A GO-GO follows psycho killer Roy Morton as he seeks innocent victims that he believes possess stolen jewelry he thinks is his. It’s more a crime caper exploitation film and didn’t go well when it was originally released. So, what did Adamson and producer Sam Sherman do? They hacked out some useable scenes and turned it into BLOOD OF GHASTLY HORROR, that’s what! It’s been unavailable since they cut out the footage, until now that is, so enjoy one of the rarest Al Adamson films made if you have the guts! THE RAWHIDE TERROR was originally a 10 chapter serial that was written by Al’s father, actor and writer Victor Adamson, who did a ton of stuff in the 30s and 40s. It was re-configured into a feature film as a lot of serials were at the time and is equally rare to find, almost lost until it wound up on this DVD.

SATAN’S BLACK WEDDING (1975) and CRIMINALLY INSANE (1975) - Best known for grim and gritty soft sex features shot in the 60s and 70s, director Nick Phillips put his feet into horror and exploitation territory twice in 1975 and came up with two cult classics in the process. In SATAN’S BLACK WEDDING Mark heads off to the left coast after the sudden death of his sister. He learns that she was researching a book about Satanism and spent lots of time at an abandoned church outside of town. Mark finds out she’s still there and Satan has plans for him as well. In the cult classic CRIMINALLY INSANE, 300 pound “Crazy Fat Ethel” Janowski has just been released from a mental institution to live with her grandmother. After grandma locks away the food so Ethel will stop stuffing her face, she murders the old lady. It isn’t long before Ethel becomes a killer who won’t let anybody come between her and her stomach... But what is she going to do with the bodies that are starting to pile up in the spare bedroom?... Be careful what you wish for when you come across a Djinn. Seems they’re very good at twisting your words around in Robert Kurtzman’s fun horror outing, WISHMASTER. The Djinn is released again in WISHMASTER 2 and he’s out to plunge Earth into chaos this time around! DVD

Independent horror anthology film features five horror stories that star a Playboy model and some guy who won some sort of scripted “reality” TV show; but does features pretty good effects. Includes commentary, additional scenes, and behind-the-scenes stuff. DVD

Elvira’s Movie Macabre Double Feature: GAMERA, SUPER MONSTER (1980) and THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE (1967) - The Mistress of the Dark presents a double feature featuring the Gamera movie made from clips of other Gamera movies, GAMERA SUPER MONSTER, along with the Freddie Francis directed THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE about a group of scientists who return from investigating a meteor shower possessed by an evil alien force while the nearby town becomes plagued with a deadly disease. This is an out of print “cut-out” DVD. It has a scratch through the UPC code on the back of the box, but is still new and factory wrapped.

The Fear Chamber. Boris Karloff finds a glob of “pure crystallized intelligence” buried deep beneath the Earth’s surface that needs a particular chemical to thrive. Sadly, the chemical can only be produced by humans experiencing pure terror... so the good doctor Karloff devises his very own Fear Chamber and begins kidnapping people to obtain the chemical needed. One of Karloff’s last films, co-directed and produced by Jack Hill, is now long out of print. DVD

aka Star Crash. Low budget sci-fi import from director Luigi Cozzi. The “good guys” including Marjoe Gortner and Caroline Munro as “Stella Star”, set out to find evil Count Joe “Maniac” Spinell’s super secret weapon and destroy it. No frills DVD release.

Things go from bad to worse when a group of people accidently discover an alien hunting party. Now they’re lost in the woods, and running for their lives, as anyone they come across falls victim to the bloodthirsty aliens in this indy horror thriller.

It’s not the first “slasher film” by a long shot but it is the one to kick open the floodgates and usher in a decade of knife and machete wielding madmen stalking over-sexed teens. And just who isn’t grateful for that?! Widescreen print with trailer. DVD

At last! A Friday the 13th film with a cool poster again!... Oh, yeah.. the movie. Well, it’s OK. Tommy Jarvis, the kid from Part 4, is back. He and Arnold Horshack screw up and bring a rotting reanimated Jason back from the dead to go on another rampage. Hey, at least it didn’t have “dream babies” like that other 80s horror film series did... Yet! DVD
